Class fee includes:
  • Class curriculum
  • Professional starter brush kit

Class Description: This course, which is  a two day hands-on course, was designed to emphasize the techniques and necessity to detail that are required today in the realm of feature film, TV (HD), print photography, advertising, high fashion, beauty, and bridal industries as well as medical esthetics and special effects.

The course is for those who want a more in-depth look at the fundamentals of makeup that are essential when working in film, TV, fashion, print, or bridal.

What exactly are the fundamentals of makeup? They are the artistic elements (knowledge, skills and tools) that are imperative to understand when one is doing make up application and/or special effects. This class covers color, skin tones, texture, contouring, color matching, contrast, shading and anatomy.
When one is just learning, the very first thing to understand is the fundamentals of art and how they translate to the art of makeup application. This class provides a more in-depth look at the fundamentals such as: facial anatomy, color (skin tones, overtones and undertones) texture, skin care, and lighting transitions from stage to HD including the secrets of the trade (yes, I will share some) and makeup product lines. The class will also demonstrate proper makeup-station set-up, sanitation and (very important) business etiquette. Since these classes are taught in the Atelier method, we not only welcome class participation, we encourage it. This course is 'hands- on' instruction.

Once one understands and continues to practice the fundamentals that apply to the world of makeup, the imagination can expand with greater insight to achieve a “look from inception to perfection”.
As you begin to understand the fundamental, you will also begin to better understand the importance of how the makeup you're using, translates to the camera, because HD is unforgiving in terms of showing everything (including pores). Understanding the skin’s texture will serve you greatly when applying makeup. Whether you are applying a prosthetic mask or doing bridal make up, the overall goal is perfection.

Please note this class issues a “Certificate of Attendance”. It is not an accredited course.
